28th Annual Silver Tea
Celebrating Women in Recovery
The Blaine House - Governor’s Mansion
Thursday, May 15, 2008
Recovery from the disease of alcoholism or
drug addiction is a reality for thousands
of Maine women. The Silver Tea honors
these women and celebrates their success
over the past months, years, or decades.
It is organized each year by the
Women’s Addiction Services Council.

In 2008, over 100 women gathered at
The Blaine House in Augusta to celebrate
more than 260 years of collective recovery
from alcohol and drug dependence.

This annual event is free and open
to the public, though registration in advance
is required.

The Women in Recovery
Leadership Award
is given each year to a woman
nominated by her peers
as an individual in recovery who has
exemplified leadership by unselfishly
making a difference in the lives
of other recovering women.

Please check back in the future for details
about next year’s Celebration and nomination process.

The Women’s Addiction Services Council was founded to enhance service coordination for women adversely affected by alcohol and drug use.
